The breeder is probably a very nice lady, she did give your deposit back and that says something. On the other hand I didn't see any parents that were anything but basic pet quality.
Adding a new family member is a long term commitment and you can find a breeder with really good quality if you take your time and learn to recognize quality when you see it. If you find a great breeder and wait for the right puppy you'll probably be much happier in the long run. If I were going to have one shipped I would fly rather than use ground. If the puppy is healthy the plane trip is easier for them than 24-48 hours in a vehicle exposed to other dogs. Best of luck finding your furbaby!!
