Default I Can Completely Understand

Hi

I read your post and my heart goes out to you. I too have a precious mini Schnauzer. Her name is Leipshen. She is 12 yrs old and I have had her since she was 12 wks. She also went blind last December. It seemed as if one day she could see fine and then the next day she was bumping into the wall. I was devistated . It was only one week before, that I had her to the vet for a complete check-up. She had x-rays because I was worried about her heart. She is a bit overweight, even though I watch her diet closely. I love her so much. She has been a faithful and loving companion. I cried for her when all of a sudden she doesn't have her sight.

Well...I may have have cried, however Leipshen has never let her handicap bother her. She navigates around the house and out to the back patio very well. She is still happy and although she cannot chase her toys anymore, as she always loved to do, she still finds them and plays with them like before. She still loves to ride in the car. she is a trooper.

My Yorkies adore her and she is very sweet and tolerant of their antics. They just fuss and jump up with Yorkie kisses and she stands and lets them.

the other day I walked into the living room, Leipshen was laying next to the couch and my 5 month old Yorkie (Biscuit) was standing on her, it was adorable.

I know that this is hard for you. As the days go by, Phoebe will adjust and so will you. I believe we both have more quality time ahead of us with our wonderful Schnauzers.

I just wanted to let you know...I completely understand what you are feeling.

Patti
