Me too, I think some of the problem is you may tell the groomer or owner of the salon what you want and then it is there help that really does the work and if they are not that experienced or don't understand what is being explaned to them because it is second hand information now.
I had it happen to me, and the groomer told me it was because they ahd a hard time with her. i should of brought her in more often. Maybe so but don't do a job not wanted unless you check first. When we get our hair cut they won;t cut it short enough if they don't understand exactly what you want.
