Mine got kennel cough from the intra-nasal vaccine. My vet doesn't give antibiotics but did give a shot for inflamation (prob the same as Prednisolone) and gave me a liquid cough suppressant. Chloe passed it to Zoey and they had it for several weeks. They would cough until they gagged. It cleared without antibiotics, but it did take several weeks. Good luck.
