I think it depends on where you live. When we had the pups in KS we just used interceptor because we didn't have a big flea problem. But now that we are in TX where it is hot and humid most of the time, we have more of an issue with fleas. More than anything, Sentinel isn't a solution for if you already have a flea infestation, but more of a preventative of infestations in your home. We give Sentinel year round, but I know that some areas are ok to not even give interceptor all year round. I saw a US map in my vet's office that showed where heartworm is an issue, and I'm sure your vet is familiar enough with your area to know if a year round heartworm prevention is necessary. Really, it just depends on if you live in an area where fleas are an issue, if you want to have the monthly prevenative or just the hearworm medicine. |
