I have another mill rescue that is my own dog and from experience i would say let her get comfortable with you and your family.. then start to socialize her.. When i got lily i had her for probably a month and took her to a local meet up.. she LOVES other dogs.. she even went up to a few people.. The next meet up she was going up to a lot more people.. it's all about trust.. i think it just depends on how neglected the dog was as to how fast they will turn around.. i know tucker is doing everything MUCH slower than lily.
Lily is still not 100% okay but compared to when i got her she is MUCH better. Loud noises and sudden movements still scare her but i think is getting better |
We've had Camden since the end of April, she is used and loves us, but she is nervous if anyone comes into our house.
I think at the breeders, she wasn't used to seeing people much and she lived kind of in the country, so she wasn't used to alot of noise and stuff going on.
I agree it is all about the trust and we just want her to be happy!
I'm so happy there are good people who want to offer their homes, time and love to make a better life for these babies!
