Yes, we have completed our mission.
Everyone has had a hot meal and bath and some cool air conditioning, and I think we are all exhausted. As we wind down a little I just wanted to share with my daughter Katie, all the love and support that is out there for the victims of Katrina. As the tears fell onto her checks. I think she has come to realize all they have been through and what they really should be thankful for. They do have their lives and their home, as many don't. It was amazing to see the destruction and mayhem that is in this state. To see the lines that people where standing in to get into what stores that were open, the gas lines were unbelievable backed up for miles to stations that didn't even have gas- but the antisipation of a delivery, not to mention the unsufferable heat they indured. As I saw many elderly and wee babies in these lines with their families. Hundreds upon hundreds of trees down, snapped and twisted. Signs, pieces of home and businesses everywhere. Not to mention power lines that where still in the roadways. They say the children won't even be able to return to school until Christmas. I just can't put into words, what I experienced today in are travels to get my family out... I can only tell you even more, that I am so grateful for all my Blessings...
