Default Please give me some ideas

Kingston is a great little boy he is very smart and seems to catch on very quickly. That being said I am have an issues with the potty training I think LOL. By no means do I expect him to be anywhere near potty trained, I am aware that it can take a while, Lily was not fully trained till she was 9 months old. My issue is he goes pee constantly, with Lily I would go sit by the potty pad with her every hour until she caught on but with Kingston I can’t seem to get it down. He goes to the pad 40% of the time on his own but most of the time when he pees on the floor it is rate after he made a big pee on the pad. Sometimes he will pee 4 or 5 times in an hour and other time he will go a few hours with no pee at all. I am lost, what can I do, I want to be consistent, but I feel I can't keep up with the peeing sometimes and he really does not let you know he has to go. Is it normal for boys to pee more often? Sorry it is so long.
Please give me some ideas
