Mine helps me, too. Always has and always will. I would never exclude her, because she just wants to be with me and help me do whatever I'm doing and that is what yours is doing. Mine did dig in my beds when she was a puppy, but I discouraged it. She outgrew it, although, once in a blue moon she will still try to dig a bit. It has not been a problem. Just my advice - I wouldn't exclude her from the fun!
