I was going to ask about how well he is drinking. This time of year they can have very concentrated urine because of the heat causing them to become dehydrated. Keep lots of fresh water out where he can get to it at all times. It doesnt take much to dehydrate a little dog. Smelly concentrated urine is a sign that he could be.
