I bought my gates at Walmart in Canada but I'm sure you could get them in the U.S. They slide open and hinge down into place with rubber stoppers on the side. I to, did not want to mark my doorways. One of my doorways was too wide, so my husband hinged two gates together and it worked beautifully.
