I can just picture that little baby on this porch in the heat. Maybe you could stand at the edge of their property and offer him a piece of chicken and get him to follow you home. When I was in the first grade I used to do that. My mamma would never let me have a dog as a child, so every afternoon walking home from school, I would convince a neighborhood dog to follow me home. Mamma always quickly found the owners, but it worked for a few hours for me! Good luck to you.
