 colour/coat descriptions
In reading the many posts I have encountered terminology which does not appear to exist anywhere in breed standard description so I'm wondering where these terms originated and just what do they mean.
cotton or silky coat - breed standard does not mention anything about cotton
wirehaired - this is one I've never heard anywhere but on this forum and would question whether any yorkie with "wirehair" was a purebred.
red yorkie - again a colour description which doesn't appear anywhere except here.
Are any of these terms accepted by AKC or CKC?
As a yorkie owner for more than 25 years I find these terms confusing and can only imagine how a new yorkie owner would feel let alone someone looking for information before they purchase a yorkie.
