I have two furbabies and I can't imagine only having one again. Mine really love one another and are best friends and having #2 did not all all affect my bond with my first baby, Louis. If anything, we are all closer now. (I am typing this as the two are snuggled up to one another, next to me sleeping while I type.
I would keep them separate at first and wean your 1st off of free feeding. Know that there will be fights, but it will work out. Patience is key!!
We have had our 2nd for 4-5 months now, its awesome. I feel so much less guilty when I am out, I know that they are playing and keeping each other company.
