I think if they were bought from a pet store, it might be a puppymill dog. That is what our new dog Gracie is, ACA. The lady we bought her from said she didn't realize until we were buying her. (Yeah sure) When I looked up her breeder in MO., I knew she was puppymill. AKC I believe inspects breeders and if they have too many dogs they won't allow them. I think it is easier for the puppymillers to go with another registry.
