Scooter did have to wear a cone but I only made him wear it when I wasn't at home. Anytime I was in the house, he didnt have it on. If I saw him starting to lick the stitches, I simply told him no and he eventually stopped trying. They hate it but as long as you shower them with love, they do OK with it. It just depends on what you see your baby doing. If they are licking, tell them no or have them wear it....the last thing you need is a prolonged recovery time.
