I know that when a person has an active infection in thier mouth, dentists normally have them take a course of antibiotics, then do the procedures when the infection is gone. I don't know if it is the same in animals,but I'd get that baby into the vet asap. From what I understand, doing dentalwork when an infection is already presen can cause major problems
