I love all the parks and the nature preserve at Torrey Pines is awesome!! I think it definitely helps to know someone in the area who recommends places that most tourists wouldn't happen upon (or someone who's been there lots). Getting closer to LA, there is also DisneyLand, Universal and Knotts Berry Farm. I think I've been to all the missions between San Juan and Old Town, San Juan Capistrano is my favorite. There is also tons of yoga available!!!
So, I guess it all depends on what you like to do and the weather you are fond of as well. |
Jodie~ have you ever been to Tassajara? I know it's not exactly right THERE, but it's near Big Sur; it's a fabulous place and they have lots of retreats. It's closed right now b/c of the fires, but I'm sure it will be a great place for you to visit!
I agree; I LOVE La Jolla, and Laguna is truly also one of my MOST favorite place in the world...talk about some fun beaches, phenomenal restaurants and a darling town (and if you're there at the right time of year, don't miss Pagaent of the Masters~ it's AMAZING.
I love going thru the missions too....it's so relaxing b/c usually you're all by yourselves and there's nobody to yap at you. Sometimes a few other tourists, depending on the time of week/day you go, but it's usually pretty mellow!
