Rescuing My Family from Ground Zero !!! Finally the call I have been waiting for!!! Even with all my attempts to reach my daughter and I couldn't get through. Katie was finally able to get a call to me.... We are going tomorrow to attempt to rescue my grandchildren and her. They are in what they are calling ground zero. But they have nothing, no water, ice, electricity, barely any food left and only one day of formula left for the baby of 3 months. They have saved what little water they have for the formula. Baby Nathaniel is teething and not doing well in the heat and Katie feels he should be seen by a doctor. They think the Red Cross is delivering in their area tomorrow, but no way of communicating, just the luck of the draw on getting a outside line on the cell phones. They can't even buy gas to get out if they wanted too. And we have to wait until tomorrow, when we are expecting a gas delivery, everyone is sold out. To make sure we will have enough gas to get in and out. We will bring them what supplies we can bring to those that we be staying, and hopefully be able to rescue Katie and the babies. There are barricades in Hattiesburg, but she said her sister-in-law was able to come through to get her children that were staying with her mother-in-law. So we are hoping for the same consideration. I will go in on foot if I have too or be arrested, but I will not stop until I have them safe with me. No disrespect intended... we are all complaining about the gas prices, but I will tell you this I would rather pay $5.00 a gallon for gas than go through what those poor people have to go through because of the Katrina, we need to be thankful for what we have, as others are feeling hungry, scared, homeless and desperate. Keep up in your prayers and wish us luck. I will keep you posted on our rescue..... |
