I understand your frustration. Its the same when we bring our human babies to visit grandparents-they like to spoil the little ones. I remember my MIL giving my 6 month old son a dill pickle to suck on followed by a dollop of whipped cream. (I was out of the room.) It was very satisfying to see him spit up all over her.

I would be very firm but polite and say "no, she's not allowed to have that" or keep her by your side to discourage the barking. eventually, people will "get it".

On the other hand, its lovely that your SO's mom loves your Bindi so much and that she is welcomed at her home. I'll bet there are a lot a YTers who would love to be accepted with their furbabies in other people's homes.

Patience will win....you may have to say it a hundred times before they get it.
