If you are going to buy online from somewhere like Craigslist, wait and do it locally. That way you can check out the dog and do a transaction in person. We just bougth a Yorkie off of Craigslist. She wasn't quite like she described her, but she is the sweetest thing. Ask alot of questions and hopefully they will be truthful with you. Our seller was a little less than truthful, but as we neared the transaction she did come clean on a few things. I have never seen a dog not miss their previous owner in the least, so I feel like I rescued her from people who didn't have enough time to spend with her. She is of course from a puppymill originally, but even they deserve a good life. You may be taking on someone elses problems. If you have time and love to spend, you can make a difference!
