I would read up on crate training and follow it to a T if you want success. Tobey was completely potty trained to a pad in just a few weeks. when we first got him (and it was early at 8wks) I put his little crate on my night stand so I could hear him start to cry in the middle of the night. They should whine a little if they need to potty before just going on their bed. I would just take him out and carry him directly to the pad. then after he did his buisiness (or after like 10 min) back to the crate. Sometimes I had to do this a few times per night which got exhausting but it paid off in the end. Now he is 1 1/2 and NEVER has an accident. Maybe I just got lucky with him....?? He's my first dog ever so I was just really scared of "messing up" with him at first and creating behavior problems.
