Meeko had one on each of his paws. When he was neutered I only had his back 2 removed. The back 2 were very flimsy and I was scared that if I left them attached, they get caught in the carpet when he's running and be ripped off. His front 2 were attached closed to his paw and, my vet didn't think they'd be a problem.
If your baby's dew claws are flimsy, I'd definitely have them removed. It's better to be safe. Imagine down the line that they were ripped off. Your baby would be in so much pain and the surgery would be much more serious. Talk to your vet and see what they suggest.
