I am a full time pre-med student and I work part time as well. I have two dogs! Needless to say, I don't always have every minute of every day to spend with my babies. Franklin is in a playpen and Maggie is crated for around 4-5 hours a day when I have class. But that doesn't stop me from being a great dog owner! They are out every second I am home (except when we all go to sleep). I take them on walks or to the dog park every day. Even if I'm not playing with them, we are spending time together and we love every moment of it.

It's all about prioritizing your time. It definitely can be done, though.

OP: I understand what a hard decision this might be. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! I would definitely find a reputable rescue to surrender to unless you want to screen people yourself for your puppy. If you DO decide to give him up, please make sure you find him the best home possible! There are too many people out there who are just looking for a toy these days.
