I can assure you that *some* who use alternative registries DO study the lines of their dogs (among many other things) and not *all* use them just to 'mislead the public.' Granted, there are a large majority of scum out there that do just as you described

and because of that you have to be extremely cautious. However, that is not ALWAYS the case. It's people like
that that give the registries bad reputations and cause the unfair assumptions that frustrate those that ARE doing the right thing.
