Mia does the same thing and she is 20 months old! She is so much like a baby in that department, I have to be on the constant look out for things she may gobble up. If she finds a coin, rock, stick, leaf, thread, paper, bottle cap...everything..it's goes straight to her mouth. Last summer she came trotting past me while out in the backyard with a dried baby garden snake in her mouth. She was so happy tossing it around. She also found the remains of a dead bird and I had to chase her to get a bird leg (foot and all) away.
