My Cali scratches all the time. After testing and diet changes we still could not determine what casued her allergies. She scratches all the time. I now have her on a new medicine that has reduced the itching quite a bit. The medicine cost 2.00 a pilll and she takes one a day but her vet said hopefully we can cut her to every other day after a couple of months. I would ask the current owner what testing has been done, any skin scrapings, how has it affected her ie hair loss, skin sores, scratching, if so how much, etc. I think most allergies can be controlled with medicines and many meds are inexpensive or food changes. Also I would ask what food they are feeding her. Hopefully it is the birds she is allergic to and she will do much better at your house. Good luck!
