The best thing to do is quit trying to detangle every night, you're gonna make her hate her grooming.

Go online and google for Isinis Brush.

Bathe the puppy, with what every shampoo and conditioner you use, follow up with Emu or Almond Oil 1 cap in 1 or 2 cups of warm water. Now while puppy is in your arms, blow dry and use the Isinis brush to gently brush out the mats. If you have an extra difficult one, use a very small slicker brush, using the side of the slicker gently work at the mat, try not to pull.

I don't brush daily, I bathe every 4 days and only brush when drying. I know it'll be tough not to do, but you are over working the coat and can do more damage.
I have the same problem with Paxton. I agree with Mardelin about Mason-Pearson brushes....since I bought mine life with Paxton's hair has gotten so much better. I bath him every 3-4 days and while I am blow drying him I use my brush....I also use Vellus products...they work very well for Paxton...he has a very heavy silk coat. He seems to really enjoy his bath day now...
