DAMN... That was a very close call for your little Spanky. I am very glad you were right there! This could have turned out tragic. where I live, I need to be careful about large owls. These things come out at dusk, and fly in the back of our complex. There is a field right there. AND it scares me that one could grab my Suzi in a flash.
I would not let Spanky out at all unless you are right there to supervise. Chances are high that the same Hawk will come back, and is not far away.
