Hi there....don't feel dumb, I found out about belly bands on YT when I first got my little Bryan. A belly band is a piece of material that wraps around the private of your pup it has velcro on the ends to keep it on and you can put a sanitary pad in it to catch the urine....it's pretty cool! I put them on Bryan if we go to someone's house and I don't want him peeing in other peoples house and when he playing hard with the kids because he will just stop and pee wherever he is and not look for his wee pad
