I have the large, so I don't know about the smaller one. My yorkies are both over 6 lbs and the large has plenty of room for both to lay down. It is big but very easy to get used to. Also they are very light weight and easy to move. To get my two used to it I brought it inside the house after every trip and let them play and nap on it.
