While all the images are gut wrenching, for people and animals both, I saw one on MSN last night that really, really got to me. It was a large dog sitting on the roof, with his eyes squinted up against the pouring rain, waiting oh so patiently. I don't believe he got the roof alone, perhaps his owners were rescued from the roof. I don't know, but it sure made me feel so sorry for him. I kept thinking that I wished whoever was filming him would help him.
Unfortunately, a great many animals will either die due to the circumstances or be euthanized after simply because people in the area are unable to shelter themselves much less an animal
