I really don't know much about doggie cardiology but I do know that dogs' hearts don't have to have a rhythm. Ellie's heartbeat is sporadic. It seems to stop for a second or two and then beats a couple times pretty fast for a few seconds (maybe two or three times in quickly)... The vet hasn't said anything about it and I think it is normal. That doesn't mean what is going on with your dog is normal though, so when in doubt talk to your vet.
