It is possible to train them to do both. It might take a little longer for them to get the hang of the fact that when you are home they are supposed to go outside, but they will get it eventually. Just be patient.

We don't use pads for Lola at my home anymore, but when we visit my mother we do. She knows when we are at home to go outside and when she is visiting grandma she should go on the pad.
