Has she been vaccinated for Bordatella?
The vaccine can cause coughing (kennel cough) and not having them vaccinated can cause it.
It could be reverse sneezing if it sounds like she is choking. If the vet heard it and didn't think anything of it, she is probably fine but since it has continued, if she is coughing, she needs to be seen.
