I'm leaning towards VA too.
I'm trying to read about the different cities, I've been looking on dogfriendly.com and Alexandria seems to have a good amount of parks, attractions, stores, etc... that are dog friendly.
They have canine cruises, but unfortunately they are on Thursdays, I think it's the second Thursday of every month. One place does doggie happy hours there too, but again on a Thursday! I guess we could always go early if VA gets picked!!
