I'm not sure about the medication so maybe someone else can help with that....but have you tried different carriers to see if perhaps that's the problem? Bella is 14 weeks and the first trip home from the breeder, I held her. Then I got a Vera Bradley carrier and Bella HATED it. So I have had to try out a few different ones to see what would work best for Bella.
Another suggestion might be the lookout car seats they have for dogs? It puts the dog up higher so they can see where they are going and sometimes that helps with car sickness.
