Gestation is 63 days long....Puppies are always born on the 63rd day from Ovulation...If you bred your bitch two days after Ovulation she would deliver 61 days from the tie...If you bred your bitch 2 days before Ovulation she would deliver 65 days from the tie...
The key is knowing the day of Ovualation...Without Progesterone testing during a heat cycle you have no way of knowing when Ovulation took place to determine the due date...
Taking temps, watching for signs of impending delivery and educating yourself before pregnancy, labor & delivery is the best tool you can have besides a great mentor to help you!
