we started on the pads -
What I would do is use the pads since you aren't there during the day and also because she's new in your home and already used to them - then just take her for walks etc and she'll learn grass is good to go 'on'.....
but just take it slow and LOTS of praise !!

That's exactly what we did. Mine are trained to go inside on puppy pads, but if we're outside they go out there.
