A girl at my work (really nice girl but still) is getting married next month. She has a 6 year old, he has a three year old. They will be moving in the next two months, and are currently renting from his cousin at this time. She is beyond stressed. They are having problems with his son, which is causing problems in the relationship. They are also very stressed financially and like I said are looking to buy a house and move after the wedding. She also wants to be pregnant the day after the wedding, right?

OK, so she decided a week ago she wants a yorkie. She doesn't even like dogs, but "wants my own dog that will listen to me because no one else does." I tried to tell her about all the health problems. behavior problems, and such that comes with owning a yorkie. I tried to explain about reputable breeders, the dangers of owning a yorkie with little kids, and the trouble with potty training. Well she just got one. I don't know from where but I am assuming from the internet. It's a pound and a half and that's all I know.

Why am I so angry? Why do I care so much? Sorry so long guys but I really, really needed to vent. I just love this breed so much and understand the time committment it takes raising one properly and all that. I won't even be able to pretend I am excited for her I don't think. What do I do? What do I do when she starts complaining about it in a few weeks or months? HELP!!

(sorry so long!)
Your friend sounds like someone who is looking for something and hasn't yet found it. She is piling too many things on at once. You should try and talk to her and see if she can't do just one thing at a time. Starting with his son and work that problem out before getting married. Also renting while saving a nice size down payment on a home will be less stressful when paying a mortgage. A dog should not even be on her list. She's biting off more than she can handle right now as it is.
