It may take a while - both my girls are trained inside and outside - and it doesn't happen overnight that's for sure lol

we started on the pads -

What I would do is use the pads since you aren't there during the day and also because she's new in your home and already used to them - then just take her for walks etc and she'll learn grass is good to go 'on'.....

but just take it slow and LOTS of praise !!
