OK, I just went thru that with Murfee. Went to the dr. and had anal glands expressed, bloodwork, fecal exam and still he would scoot his butt on the floor until it was raw and red. Took him back and they gave him a shot to stop the itching. Two weeks later he was at it again. Went back again for another shot. Two week later, the same thing. One day he was sitting on my lap and I noticed something that looked like rice caught in the hair of his backside. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM called the vets office and they said that was tapeworms. Got a pill to give him and another for 3 weeks later (this was just last week when he got the second one) and NO MORE ITCHING. I was a little upset at the vet for not finding it until I talked with Cindy (chattiesmom) and she told me that the fecal exams don't usually find tapeworms. Good luck
