Aww, I am sorry you had a groomer that didn't listen
But there is a bright side to this, if your pup is only 17 weeks, having it shaved will save you from going through the puppy coat stage, which can be, depending on the coat type, a p.i.t.a. My girl had the worst of worst puppy coats, matted easily, so I kept her in a puppy cut until she was almost a year, and have been growing it ever since. Her hair is beautiful now and never matts!!
As far as the color goes, it all depends on what coloring your Yorkie is going to turn out to be. It could come in lighter or dark. Not because it was cut, but because thats how some Yorkies change.
