Is this your child? Or a friend's child? ICD's are absolutely amazing and really do work wonders. I worked extensively with heart transplants and heart/lung transplants at Stanford Univ. Hospital. It's a very successful operation and things are getting better as far as the meds go post surgery. I wish you (or whoever is involved) all the prayers in the world. I hope he gets his heart soon enough if that's what he needs and that he has an uneventful recovery in either case! It's so sad to see such sick kids; one thing though is that they rebound almost miraculously!
