Topper doesn't play with toys either. I chalk it up to him being a kennel dog that wasn't played with for the first 16 months of his life. Since I have had him he will take a toy and carry it in his mouth to his bed or he will chew on things like rubber bathtub plugs, toilet paper rolls, cat's stuffed mouse but he doesn't care to play fetch or tug of war with a toy.
