Or how soon would I need to spay her if I were to bring her home? Thanks!!
Why would you be against spaying/neutering?? How hard is it? Very hard and difficult to go through. If you like your male peeing on every corner in your home (and it is pretty strong smelling) and howling and whimpering all the time (especially at night) - then no problem. If your girl does get pregnant are you aware you could loose her and the pups? My girl just had an emergency c-section and it was so hard for her to go through. I also lost a pup out of two after 5 days of hand feeding and tube feeding her around the clock, even getting up every hour while on the bottle and every 2 hours tube feeding her. My house was a wreck and good thing I was off on summer break right now. I do not know how I would have been able to do and work. And accidents of mating happen all the time. I keep my guys seperate, but I have heard many pet owners that have had accidental breedings all the time. Just do a search here and you will find a ton of this happening. I would have her spayed at 6 months of age. This seems to be the best age and also will help to protect her against mammory tummor cancer later in life. I am glad you asked this question. Sounds like you want to do the best for your dogs.
