Another idea is to plan something on a weekend in a city that might already have an annual pet event going on. Like a pet fest, etc... That way there would be another activity to be able to attend and the planning is already in place!

Orlando is having an pet expo this year.

If this expo is an annual event this could be something to do next year if the YT meetup is in Orlando. Since there will be adoptable and entertainment animals there, no pets are allowed.
