We hust got home. My son posted this messege to all his friends so I will let him tell you all..
Hey, everyone.
Just wanted to drop everyone a quick line to let everyone know about Nathan's surgery. He had a Defibrillator/Pacemaker put in the right side of his chest this morning. There were no complications, and it went beautifully.
This device will shock him if another deadly heart rythm starts, and it will also give him a low current while he sleeps if an equally problematic low rythm occurs, which is, at the moment, a nightly occurence.
They say that he has made progress since he got to Houston, and that he is on hold for a transplant at this time, but that they could put him back on if necessary with the click of a button. For right now, they're hopeful that medication will strengthen his heart, so we still have a little more time left here in Houston for them to treat him and monitor his day-to-day progress. How much time remains to be seen. I hope it's not too long. We'd like to get back as close to normal as we can get.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
