[Deegan's mom]

Hi everyone - I was just remembering about one of the scariest situations that Deegan was in a few minutes ago and thought I'd create a post for everyone to share their stories...
Some of you may remember it but here's our story:
It was a nice summer morning and we had had Deegan for about a month, so he was probably about 4.5 months old... Our routine was that I would put him outside in the morning after he ate so that he could do his business and get some fresh morning air... While we were sitting outside the phone rang so I went in the house to answer it and as I was talking I got distracted and wasn't paying close attention to him. After I got off the phone, I looked around and couldn't see him anywhere - my heart began to pound. I ran around the yard, looking in every nook and cranky there was - under the patio, by the bbq, behind the shed - couldn't see him anywhere - I was in such a panic... I ran inside and decided to look out the windows in the house because it would give me an overview of the yard. And low & behold there he was!!! I was almost paralyzed with fear!!! He had somehow gotten through the fence and was in our next door neighbours backyard... he managed to crawl up their patio stairs and was sitting on a floaty (the kind you lay on in the pool), which was half on the patio -but also half in the pool!!! OMG! Scared me to death cause I thought if he takes one step further that he might fall off the floaty and fall into the pool! I never ran so fast - out our yard and into theirs... To make a long story short, I'm happy to say that I managed to get him before he fell in, but I won't ever forget that day & thank god that he managed to keep my baby safe until I got there. Needless to safe we blocked every tiny space we could through the fence so something like that wouldn't happen again.
