 question for breeders
Do you some times hold back on telling a prosective buyer if you have what they are looking for until you have talked to them further and felt them out?
I talked to a very nice lady tonight , My husband had left her a message to call me after he had spoken with her. She and I talked for a while about what I wanted to do with the dog , and why the dog was a older then normal for selling age. she told me there where some problems in her life and she just did not get it done. which I understand. anyways we starting talk about the dog she had and she asked me how much my female weights (I am planning to breed her and I need a smaller male.) She told me her male was larger then my female. I said I am sorry but I am not interested then I do not even want to attempt that as if I lost Kai I'd die , she's my baby. Then we starting chatting agian and I said something to the effect of I am having a hard time with breeders and the more I read about them the more wary I am (I posted a questions to ask earlier today and someone gave me this wonderful web site about questions) and I was telling her how I had read about breeders lying about parents ect ect ect.....and she said well I do have a yorkie that you may be intersed in , Im sorry but I had to make sure you where the right person first. I needed to talk to you a little more and feel you out. , anywasy we finished talking and she seems great she is e-mailing me pic's. any ways , Here is where I feel weird , I know she was just making sure i would be a good home for her baby , but if she was not forth coming in the first place about having this dog , whats to say shes not going to be forthcoming with anything else...I read so much about bad breeders people who rip people off and it just makes me nervous...so my question is Breeders do you do this??? Is this something normal? should I be wary???
